Welcome to the Harrow School of Gymnastics Website
Gymnastics is an excellent
preparation for many sports and can provide a structured
opportunity for children to develop skills such as
strength, suppleness, balance and co-ordination and it
encourages concentration, discipline and general
fitness.
Harrow School of Gymnastics was
founded in 1979, originally based at
Harrow Leisure Centre. The present purpose-built
Gym was built in 1991 with the help of Harrow council,
the Sports Council
and funds raised by the club itself.
We provide a safe and stimulating
environment for gymnastics classes at all levels, from Pre-School
to adult gym. Most of those involved enjoy
General Gymnastics
working for British Gymnastics awards and competing in
the Club Championships. The performance section
comprising
Women's Artistic and Men's Artistic, gives an opportunity
for talented gymnasts to compete within the Club, at
Regional, National and International levels.
During the week, inclusive of
holidays, we run Play Gym
sessions where parents can bring their children to play
on the facilities, accompanied by their parents or
guardians. There is no tuition during these
sessions.
At weekends, the gym can be hired
out for parties using
the gym facilities (with supervision supplied) and an
area to provide refreshments (not supplied). |
